Hopefully some of you fencing contractors have benifted already from this exposure that Wiremark is doing for the industry, you may already have seen some articles in the rural papers.

Below are two PDF files for you to view incase you havent seen them yet. please print off and pass on to your clients if you are in one of these  areas.

Robert Best from Pukekohe//
I’m relieved to say that fencing has really picked up over the last couple of months in the Pukekohe area. In fact I have been offered work from two other contractors who can’t cope with what they have. 90% of our work is lifestyle and equine properties and we have dozens of contractors in our area so signs are looking positive for the future.

Round up from the Waikato//
Has been a good summer weather wise, but for the work side of things, it has been slow. This has been reported from the merchants to the workers. January was slower than normal for a lot of industries not just for the fencing. Autumn mornings starting and work is slowly picking up.

Nigel Broadbridge. Central Fencing Canterbury//
The 1st of 2010 got off to the usual slow start with everyone still at the beach and not thinking about fencing and development. Contractors and suppliers are both noticing a more competitive marketplace than 2009 and having to sharpen up the pencil to win jobs. Some however are still very busy with plenty of work ahead. With the lean year last year everyone may just be sitting on their cheque books until this financial year is over. Weather wise the summer has been reasonably kind to us, with not as many unworkable days. With summer officially closed and the sun staying in bed for a little longer each morning it’s a sure sign we are heading for the colder months, hopefully for contractors this winter is as kind to us as the last one was. Remember “Go Hard or Go Home”.

Tararua Regional update//
Things are on the improve with our region being predominantly  Sheep and Beef farmers it has been a hard spring for most of the local contractors with some having to travel out of the are for work which puts allsorts of other issue on to running a business.

On a more positive note most farmers are now feeling more positive and work is starting to flow again.

Weather wise it has been a very wet spring and also a wet summer but great for grass growth but that in turn has made it difficult for contractors, I know some of the local hay contractors are pulling there hair out trying to get grass dry.
